Moore Records Double-Double in Win Over Southern Oregon

POMONA, Calif. – Cal Poly Pomona women's basketball turned in a commanding defensive performance on Saturday evening, defeating Southern Oregon 63-49 in their home opener at Kellogg Arena to improve to 2-1 on the season.

The No. 25 ranked Broncos jumped out to an early lead and never looked back, controlling the game from the opening tip. Cal Poly Pomona opened on an 8-0 run fueled by balanced scoring and fast-break execution, leading 22-12 after the first quarter. Despite a second-quarter lull, seeing CPP match SOU at 13 points a piece, the Broncos maintained a double-digit advantage heading into halftime, 35-25.

Senior Jeanette Fine led the scoring with a game-high 15 points, hitting two key threes and going a perfect 3-for-4 from the line. She also added five rebounds and two steals, anchoring CPP's defensive pressure that forced 16 Southern Oregon turnovers. Mydrea Moore recorded a double-double with 10 points and a team-leading 10 rebounds, dominating the paint and providing second-chance opportunities throughout the night.

Freshman forward Madison Eade chipped in nine points and two rebounds, while Alexis Woodson contributed six points and two steals. Andrea Stajic was steady in the backcourt, adding six points and five rebounds in 38 minutes, while taking half of the team's 16 attempts beyond the arc.

Cal Poly Pomona held the Raiders to just 32.3 percent shooting from the field and 14.3 percent from three-point range, while outrebounding them 45-42. The Broncos' transition game proved decisive, outscoring Southern Oregon 25-8 on fast breaks and converting turnovers into quick points.

The Broncos extended their largest lead to 14 midway through the fourth quarter and closed out the win, highlighted by Fine's late three-pointer to seal the victory.
