Pomona Prevails: Broncos Seal 72-61 Victory Over Warriors

TURLOCK, Calif. – The Cal Poly Pomona Broncos came out on top, defeating the Stanislaus State Warriors 72-61. The Broncos started the game with a slight lead, fueled by contributions from Miles Lewis, Demarreya Lewis-Cooper, Kevin Simeth, and Jaden Winfield, who helped keep the team ahead early on.

However, with 10 minutes remaining in the first half, the Warriors managed to surge ahead and briefly take the lead. The Broncos, staying composed, responded by hitting key 3-pointers in the final six minutes of the half. Lewis-Cooper, Lewis, and Sam Hunter all connected from beyond the arc, helping the Broncos regain the advantage. At the break, the Broncos led 32-25.
A perfect 100% performance at the free-throw line in the first half also helped solidify their lead.

Coming out of the locker room, the Broncos looked to maintain their advantage. Miles Lewis added another 3-pointer in the opening minutes of the second half, keeping the Warriors at bay. Stanislaus State attempted to close the gap, but the Broncos' consistent play on both ends allowed them to hold their lead.

With just one minute remaining in the game, the Broncos secured their largest lead of 15 points after another clutch 3-pointer from Lewis-Cooper. The Broncos closed out the game strong, finishing with a well-earned 72-61 victory.
