BELLINGHAM, Wash. – Cal Poly Pomona volleyball suffered their first loss of the 2025 season on Friday afternoon, dropping all three sets to Central Washington by scores of 25-19, 25-23, and 25-20. The Wildcats, who improve to 2-0 to start the year, had received votes in the AVCA Preseason Top 25 poll, and defeated No. 4 San Francisco State in their season opener yesterday.
Â
The Broncos (1-1) have experienced uncharacteristic struggles against the Wildcats in the past two decades, as their last victory over CWU was back in 2007. Last season, the Wildcats were the Broncos' lone loss through CPP's historic 22-1 start.

The Broncos struggled to find the floor on their attacks, swinging .142 to Central Washington's .204 clip. That marks CPP's fourth-lowest hitting percentage in a match in the past four seasons. Despite the offensive struggles, the Broncos found a way to stay in each set, never trailing by more than six points.
