Redshaw’s Late Brace Leads No. 13 Broncos Past Cal State East Bay

ALAMEDA, Calif. – Sasha Redshaw scored twice in the final four minutes to lift Cal Poly Pomona to a 2-0 victory over Cal State East Bay on Saturday at the Oakland Roots Training Facility. The No. 13 Broncos improved to 8-1-6 overall and 5-1-4 in CCAA play.

After a scoreless opening half, CPP increased its pressure and produced eight shots and six corner kicks during the final 45 minutes. The Broncos repeatedly tested the opposing goalkeeper before breaking through in the 87th minute.

Breanna Ivie and Jenna Santos combined to set up Redshaw, who buried the opportunity for her first goal of the season and a 1-0 advantage. Redshaw nearly doubled the lead moments later, forcing a save in the 88th minute. She completed her brace from the penalty spot in the 89th, scoring her second goal in less than two minutes and securing the 2-0 victory.

Redshaw led the Broncos with two goals and placed all three of her shots on target. Carly Radke added four shots, including three on goal, while Charlie Gallardo and Kailey Powers also tested the goalkeeper.

CPP finished with an 11-4 advantage in shots, an 8-1 edge in attempts on goal and a 9-2 margin in corner kicks. Parker LaMont made one save to record her 11th shutout of the season.

Holly Wilbanks, Mikaela Marr and Angelina Santana each played all 90 minutes, helping CPP limit the hosts to only one shot on goal.
