Gallardo's Brace Powers #12 Broncos Over Toros

POMONA, Calif. – Charlie Gallardo scored twice in the first half as Cal Poly Pomona earned a 2-0 home victory over Cal State Dominguez Hills on Friday at Kellogg Stadium. The #12 Broncos remained unbeaten, improving to 6-0-6 overall and 3-0-4 in CCAA play.

Gallardo wasted little time putting CPP ahead, finding the net in the third minute off an assist from Sabine Ramos. The goal was Gallardo's third of the season and gave the Broncos an early 1-0 advantage. She struck again in the 28th minute, scoring unassisted for her fourth goal of the year and completing her first brace as a Bronco.

CPP controlled the match from start to finish, holding a 21-3 advantage in shots and placing seven attempts on goal. Gallardo led all players with six shots, including two on target, while Carly Radke added five shots and three attempts on frame. Morgan Huff placed both of her shots on goal, and Ramos finished with three attempts and her first assist of the season.

The Broncos' defense delivered another commanding performance, limiting the visitors to one shot on goal. Parker LaMont made the lone save she faced to secure her ninth shutout of the season and remain unbeaten in net. Holly Wilbanks, Georgia Rink, Braedyn Kincade and Mikaela Marr each played all 90 minutes and helped preserve the clean sheet.

CPP also finished with a 7-1 advantage in corner kicks and controlled 62% of possession, continuing its balanced play at both ends of the field.
