Broncos Continue Outdoor Success at Ben Brown Invitational

FULLERTON, Calif. - The Cal Poly Pomona Broncos continued their strong outdoor season with solid performances at the Ben Brown Invitational, hosted by Cal State Fullerton.

In the sprints, Ekene Onwaeze led the way in the 100 meters, finishing 14th with a time of 10.73. Dylan Hanvey and Thenuk Chandrasekera also posted competitive times in the 100 and 200 meters, while Konnor Handy, Jordan Crowdus, and Thenuk Chandrasekera contributed strong finishes in the 200 meters. In the 400 meters, Evan Josephson and Jordan Crowdus ran just under 50 seconds, placing 18th and 19th.

Middle-distance runners Trajan Cephas and Thomas Doherty broke the 4-minute barrier in the 1500 meters, earning top-10 finishes, while Ricardo Vargas led the 5000 meters with a third-place time of 14:18.79, joining the program's all-time best performers. Other distance runners also turned in strong efforts.

On the hurdles, Harry Chen and Gavin Hanes competed well in the 110 meters, and Darryll Stevens placed 7th in the 400-meter hurdles. Cory Gamero added a 5th-place discus throw of 48.02 meters.

These performances reflect the Broncos' growing momentum as the outdoor season progresses. The team now looks ahead to the UC Riverside Spring Break Classic on March 21.
