5/12/2026 3:30:00 PM

INDIANAPOLIS - Cal Poly Pomona will be well represented on the women's side at the 2026 NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field Championships, as six student-athletes combine for three individual entries and a 4x400-meter relay berth. The national meet, hosted by Emporia State University, runs May 21–23 in Emporia, Kansas.

Seniors Arissa Hatcher, Jessica James, and Neshara Smith each qualified for individual events, while James also joins freshman Hannah Bassett, senior Yasmeen Delgado, and senior Jordan Garcia on the Broncos' 4x400-meter relay squad.

Hatcher earned her spot in the women's 800-meter run after posting a time of 2:07.07, which broke the program record, and will compete in the preliminary round at the national meet on Friday.

James qualified individually in the women's 400-meter dash with a time of 53.88, adding to her busy championship schedule as she also anchors the 4x400 relay.

Smith will return to nationals in the women's 100-meter hurdles, entering the championships with a time of 13.58. Last season, Smith earned All-America honors with a sixth-place finish in the event.

Cal Poly Pomona's 4x400-meter relay team of Delgado, Garcia, Bassett, and James secured qualification with a season-best time of 3:39.56. The group will look to carry momentum into the preliminary round as they compete on Friday for a place in the national final.
