5/22/2026 10:03:00 PM

EMPORIA, Kan. - Cal Poly Pomona freshman Harry Chen cleared 2.00 meters (6-6 ¾) to place 20th in the men's high jump finals at the NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field Championships on Friday afternoon in Emporia, Kansas. Chen successfully cleared the opening height on his third attempt before narrowly missing three attempts at 2.05 meters (6-8 ¾).

Competing against the nation's top high jumpers, Chen concluded a standout freshman campaign that saw him emerge as one of the top newcomers in the country. The Taipei, Taiwan native cleared a season-best 2.09 meters (6-10 ¼) at the Rossi Relays on Feb. 28, a mark that ranked fourth in program history and secured his qualification to the national championships.

Chen became one of the few Broncos to qualify for the NCAA Outdoor Championships in the high jump and will enter next season with both national championship experience and one of the top marks in school history already to his name.
