EMPORIA, Kan. -
Arissa Hatcher earned First Team All-America honors with a fifth-place finish in the women's 800-meter final at the NCAA Division II Championships on Saturday afternoon. The Cal Poly Pomona senior crossed the line in 2:09.36 to score all four of the Broncos' points against a stacked national field.
Hatcher positioned herself near the front early, sitting fourth through the opening 400 meters in 59.52 seconds before battling through the final lap to secure a top-five national finish. The performance capped an outstanding senior campaign for the school record holder and marked another strong showing for the Broncos on the national stage.
