Nine Broncos Earn All-CCAA Honors, Most Since 2017

ALISO VIEJO, Calif. - Cal Poly Pomona baseball placed nine players on the 2026 All-CCAA Baseball Team, highlighted by three First Team selections, three Second Team honorees, and three additional Broncos earning honorable mention recognition, as announced by the conference office on Monday night.
 
The nine honorees marks the most for the team since 2017, and is the second-most in a season in program history. The Broncos finished the regular season with a 28-21 overall record while going 18-14 in conference play, all while having one of the Top 10 toughest strengths of schedule in the entire country.
 
Jack Sanders – First Team
Sanders turned in one of the top offensive seasons in the conference, batting .326 with 61 hits, 13 doubles, 13 home runs, 53 RBI, and a 1.028 OPS. He also scored a team-high 47 runs and added 17 stolen bases, combining power and speed while leading CPP in total bases (117) and slugging percentage (.626). His 13 home runs is tied for sixth-most in a season in school history, while he also moved into fourth in career home runs with 28. He was named CCAA Player of the Week opening weekend, slugging four home runs with eight runs scored in the first three games of the season.
 
Andrew Campbell – First Team
Campbell anchored the Broncos' rotation with a 10-3 record across 13 appearances, posting a 3.80 ERA in 68.2 innings. He struck out 53 hitters and consistently worked deep into games, going at least 5.0 innings in 11 of his outings. Campbell leads the CCAA in wins, while also ranking Top 10 in ERA, innings pitched, and strikeouts.
 
Anthony Vasquez – First Team
Vasquez was another key arm in the Bronco rotation, going 3-1 with a 3.64 ERA over 54.1 innings. He recorded 48 strikeouts while limiting opponents to a .246 batting average, providing stability in the weekend rotation. Vasquez limited opponents to just nine extra-base hits, and had a complete game, nine-inning shutout against eventual regular season champion Cal State Monterey Bay that earned him CCAA Pitcher of the Week honors. He ranked Top 5 in the CCAA in ERA, opponent batting average, fewest hits allowed, fewest runs allowed, and fewest walks allowed.
 
Sebastian Arguelles – Second Team
Arguelles hit .289 during the regular season with 44 hits, nine doubles, and three home runs while driving in 24 RBI and scoring 18 times. From April 3rd to 18th, he strung together a 10-game hitting streak that is tied for the longest on the team this season. Arguelles also contributed defensively with 29 put outs and 69 assists at third base, helping anchor the left side of the infield.
 
Austin Duarte – Second Team
Duarte emerged as one of the Broncos' top hitters as a redshirt freshman, batting .319 with 45 hits, 27 runs scored, and 22 RBI. He had the third-highest slugging percentage on the team among qualified hitters at .418, including five doubles and three home runs. Duarte showed strong plate discipline with a team-leading 27 walks and posted a .436 on-base percentage while stealing five bases on six attempts.
 
Anthony Cosme – Second Team
Cosme made an impact both as a starter and reliever, finishing the regular season with a 3-3 record and a 3.32 ERA in 38.0 innings. He struck out 39 batters while issuing just seven walks, and limited damage effectively throughout the season with a .281 batting average against. On March 30th, he was named CCAA Pitcher of the Week after striking out a career-high 10 batters in 6.0 innings of work against Cal State Dominguez Hills.
 
Julian Angulo – Honorable Mention
Angulo led the Broncos with a .331 batting average, adding 50 hits, five home runs, 33 runs scored, and 40 RBI. He also posted a team-leading .443 on-base percentage with a .989 fielding percentage at first base. On March 9th, he was named CCAA Player of the Week after a big series against Cal State San Bernardino where he batted .500 with eight hits, seven runs scored, and seven RBI in one weekend.
 
Tyler Blade – Honorable Mention
Blade contributed across the board in his redshirt freshman campaign, hitting .278 in the regular season with 49 hits, 30 runs scored, 28 RBI while going a near-perfect 10-for-11 on stolen bases. He slugged five doubles, one triple, and three home runs, including a home run at Azusa Pacific in his first collegiate game. He also recorded a flawless 1.000 fielding percentage in centerfield, recording 86 putouts with two assists. From March 14th to 28th, Blade had a 10-game hitting streak, which is tied for the team high this season.
 
Matt Lorenzano – Honorable Mention
Lorenzano was a high-usage arm for CPP this spring, appearing in 13 games with eight starts and logging 64.1 innings. He totaled 72 strikeouts, the most in the CCAA this season, while walking just 20. Lorenzano had a 4-4 record, while striking out at least six batters in eight of his outings. On March 16th, he was named CCAA Pitcher of the Week after throwing 7.0 scoreless innings with seven strikeouts against Chico State.
 
 
CCAA Tournament
As the No. 3 seed in the upcoming CCAA Tournament, the Broncos will face No. 2 seed Cal State San Marcos on Thursday, May 7th, at 2:00 PM at Fiscalini Field in San Bernardino. If they win, they will advance to Friday at 3:00 PM. Since this is a double elimination tournament, a loss against the Cougars would result in an elimination game on Friday at 11:00 AM.
