RIVERSIDE, Calif. -
Miranda Palacios led the Cal Poly Pomona women's cross country team to a seventh-place finish Saturday at the 45th Annual UC Riverside Invitational at the UCR Ag/Ops Course.
Competing in a 30-team field, the Broncos totaled 215 points with a team time of 1:45:31 and an average time of 21:06. Palacios paced CPP by finishing 17th overall in 20:41.7.
Palacios' performance was the second-fastest in program history for a 6K race, trailing only
Vivian Martinez's 20:32.7 set at the NCAA West Regional just last season. Palacios previously held the 11th-fastest 6K time in program history, also set at the NCAA West Regional last season.
Galilea Jimenez followed in 35th place at 20:59.9, recording the sixth-fastest 6K time in program history.
Jade Kingston finished 37th in 21:02.5, which moves into seventh on the Broncos' all-time 6K performance list.
Ali Holtzen placed 67th in 21:22.6, while
Chloe Alchin rounded out the Broncos' scoring five in 72nd place at 21:25.0. The five scoring runners finished within 43.3 seconds of one another.
Alondra Arias also competed for CPP, placing 95th in 21:34.9.
Lizeth DePaz crossed the finish line in 132nd at 21:50.0, followed by
Natalie Conde in 22:03.7,
Emily Conde in 22:09.0, and
Audrey Buckley in 22:58.7.
The UCR Ag/Ops Course has now hosted 17 meets involving Cal Poly Pomona. Saturday's race marked the Broncos' first appearance at the Riverside course since 2024.
UC Riverside Open
Following the Invitational, the Cal Poly Pomona women's cross country team captured the team title in the Open race on Saturday. The Broncos finished with 77 points, recording a team time of 1:31:42 and an average time of 18:20 over the 5,000-meter course. CPP placed three runners inside the top 11 and had all five scoring runners finish among the top 50.
Sophia Ebiner led the Broncos with a fifth-place finish in 18:02.8, followed closely by
Sophia Pham, who placed fifth in 18:05.8.
Cassidy Misuraca added a seventh-place finish in 18:13.9, giving CPP three of the top 11 individual places.
Ava Holtzen finished 27th in 18:31.8 to serve as the Broncos' fourth scorer, while
Jubilee Cisneros rounded out the scoring five in 47th place at 18:47.8. The five scoring runners finished within 45 seconds of one another.
Brianna Richards placed 55th in 18:50.0, followed by
Emily Howard in 73rd at 18:59.1 and
Emily Cuevas in 140th at 19:57.0.
