Biography
As a Junior in 2014: Placed fifth at the NCAA DII National Championships as he recorded a 17-5 mark in pole vaulting during this season, the No. 1 all time record in Bronco history and CCAA meet records… As the 10th Bronco to receive the Academic All-America accolade, Ellerbee was the first men’s track and field student-athlete of this group with a 3.72 GPA… Also a recipient of the U.S Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-Region accolades... Earned a spot on the CCAA All-Academic Team for earning a grade point average above 3.40 through the 2013-14 academic year.
As a Sophomore in 2013: Placed 13th nationally at the NCAA Division II National Championships in Pueblo, Colo... Captured a conference title in the pole vault after recording a school-record height of 16-9.5 that ranked sixth nationally in 2013... As one of three CCAA individual champions on the men's side, he helped guide the Broncos to a second-place finish at the conference meet... Excelled in the classroom as well, earning Capital One Academic All-District honors after maintaining a GPA of 3.85.
As a Freshman in 2012: In pole vault, he notched a "B" provisional qualifier with a 15-9 height at the Cal State L.A. Last Chance Meet… This ranks as the seventh all-time mark on the Broncos’ leaderboard.
High School: A 2011 graduate of Rocklin High School... Captured first place in the pole vault for both the Sac-Joaquin Section and the Sierra Foothill League... Also secured a league title in the 110-meter hurdles... Achieved Honor Roll mention through each semester of his four years.
Personal: Son of Daniel and Jaclyn Ellerbee... Aerospace Engineering major... Enjoys longboarding and rock climbing in his free time... Aspires to a career with an emphasis in either fluid mechanics, structural analysis or propulsion.
