CPP WOMEN'S SOCCER CAMP GOAL

The Cal Poly Pomona Women's Soccer Camp aims to create a college level training environment in which each player can develop tools needed at the next level while improving their game! We believe the camp provides a unique experience in learning what its like to play at the next level but also what you should be preparing for in order to be a successful student athlete.

The camp will include the current coaching staff including Head Coach Jay Mason and current student- athletes.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

QUESTION:  Does the Winter ID Camp comply with CIF High School Soccer Rules?

A:  We understand that there are different rules regarding athlete participation in soccer activities during their CIF high school season so it is hard for us to answer this question outright. At the camp we will be hold training sessions which include 11v11 scrimmages however scores will not be kept and there will be no referees or officials calling the game. According to the 2021-22 CIF Rulebook and Constitution Article 60, regarding outside competition, you should be able to participate as this does not encroach on any rules (please check and conform with your high school coach and/or Athletic Director if needed).

A copy of the outside competition section of the CIF Rulebook can be found at the link below, which has the following the passage:

https://www.cifstate.org/governance/constitution/600_Series.pdf

Article 60

Q:  Is attendance by an individual student-athlete at a non-school practice, camp or clinic considered participation on an outside team if during that sport’s season of sport?

A:  No. Individual student-athletes may attend a non-school practice, camp or clinic during that sport’s season of sport (unless your school and/or CIF Section has developed a more restrictive rule).

Q:  May an individual student-athlete compete in a scrimmage or game while attending a non-school practice, camp or clinic during that sport’s season of sport?

A:  Yes, as long as they are attending that camp as an individual (unless your school and/or CIF Section has developed a more restrictive rule).
