Tim Burton, a former coach at University of Southern California, enters his second season assisting on Randy Betten's staff in 2012. This is the second stint at CPP for Burton, who served the program in recruiting and day-to-day operations from 2000 to 2004.

Burton’s 11-year coaching career includes stints at Riverside Community College and USC, where he handled the Trojans’ infielders and outfielders, as well as assisting on hitting and base running.

“Tim has an incredible amount of experience at a variety of levels,” Betten said at the time of Burton's hiring. “His versatility with different roles will add a lot to the CPP program.”

After earning All-League honors at Vista High School as a starter for the 1993 CIF championship squad, Burton continued his career at Palomar College and Cal State San Bernardino. He was an all-conference player at CSUSB where he earned his bachelor's degree in kinesiology in 1999.

Burton later earned his teaching credential at Chapman University and his masters' degree in kinesiology at Azusa Pacific University.
