As a Senior in 2012: Currently tied for first nationally in wins with 11... Featured on the
Tino Martinez Award Watch List, an honor that will go to the most outstanding baseball player at the Division II level at the conclusion of the 2012 season... His earned run average of 1.58 ranks first in the conference and 19th nationally... He's racked up seven complete games while holding opponents to a batting average of .200... So far in 2012, he's collected 82 strikeouts, which also is the top total in the CCAA.
As a Junior in 2011: Continued to become one of the leaders of the Cal Poly Pomona pitching staff, throwing 47.2 innings to contribute in both the starter and reliever roles... Racked up 46 strikeouts while holding opposing hitters to a .255 batting average... He finished with the team lead in saves with four and ranked third on the squad in earned run average with a 3.02 mark.
As a Sophomore in 2010: Turned in solid sophomore campaign, leading the Broncos in innings pitched (75), wins (seven), strikeouts (47), games started (14) and complete games (two)... Won three-straight starts in early April over Cal State L.A., Cal State San Bernardino and Cal State East Bay... Threw 5.2 innings of shutout ball at home against San Francisco State on March 13, scattering three hits and striking out three Gator hitters... Longest outing of the year was on Feb. 20 at home against Cal State Monterey Bay, when he lasted 7.1 innings and allowed just one run to help CPP capture a 4-1 win... Held one of best strikeout to walk ratios on squad (47:14).
As a Freshman in 2009: Outstanding freshman season for the Green & Gold… Threw 46 innings and finished 3-2 with a 4.70 ERA… Struck out 28 and walked 15... Earned starts in each of the final six series… Earned one save – throwing one inning in 7-4 win over Cal State Dominguez Hills on Feb. 5… Gave up just eight extra-base hits… Reached the seventh inning in three of his six starts… Threw an inning of relief and earned win over Chico State on Feb. 27… Earned win over San Francisco State, going 6.1 innings, giving up four hits, four runs and struck out four… Earned win over Academy of Arts with six shutout innings, allowing four hits with four strikeouts… Member of the Urban Youth Academy that won the 17th annual RBI (Reviving Baseball in Inner Cities) World Series, played at Jupiter, Fla., on the ground of the Florida Marlins' spring training facility… A California Collegiate League All-Star.
High School: A 2008 graduate of Alta Loma High School, where he was a four-year starter on the varsity squad… Team advanced to CIF Playoffs junior and senior seasons… Earned All-Baseline League First Team honors as a junior and Second Team accolades as a senior… Posted a 2.01 ERA as a junior and 2.45 as a senior.
