As a Junior in 2011: Turned in a tremendous year on the mound for the West Region runner-up Broncos... Finished with the fifth-lowest earned run average on the team at 3.54 with 48.1 innings pitched... Excelled in the relief role for the first half of the season for CPP, allowing just one earned run in his first 20 innings as a Bronco... His second career win was one of his most impressive as he threw five scoreless innings of one-hit ball against Cal State Dominguez Hills on Feb. 24... Also pitched well in the West Region championship game, going 5.2 innings as he struck out six and allowed just one earned run.

At Cuesta College: Played mostly at the catcher position during the 2009 season, before converting into a pitcher for the 2010 campaign... Finished the 2010 year with 55.1 innings pitched and a 5.53 earned run average... Limited opposing hitters to just 13 walks and went 4-4 on the season... In a super regional doubleheader, started the first contest and earned the win, before entering the second game as the closer and recording the save to advance Cuesta into the championship... Earned a spot on the dean's list during his time at Cuesta.

High School: A 2007 graduate of Simi Valley High School... Earned a spot on the All-AAF Second Team as a senior and was a four-time gold glove winner.

Personal: Born May 11, 1989... Son of Frank and Mary Reed... Has two siblings named Frankie and Brittney... Brother competed collegiately in baseball at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo and now plays in the Florida Marlins' organization... Business Management major... Enjoys golf and fishing in his free time... Favorite pro team is the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim and favorite athlete is Mike Napoli... Aspires to play professional baseball.
