High School: A 2011 graduate of Murrieta Valley High School... In his senior year for the Nighthawks, he batted .352 with 25 runs batted in and a slugging percentage of .580... His outstanding season included a three-hit and four-RBI game... Three-time All-Southwestern League honoree... Four-time winner of the student-athlete award.

Personal: Born Jan. 9, 1993... Son of Mark and Margarete Nielsen... Father played basketball at Cal Poly Pomona from 1982 through 1986... Business Administration major... Enjoys hanging out with his teammates and watching sports in his free time... Favorite pro teams are the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim, the Los Angeles Lakers and the San Diego Chargers... Aspires to become a financial advisor.
