2009: Saw action in 11 games with one start… Did not have a record, but earned a 10.97 ERA… Struck out 11 and issued 11 walks… Allowed 18 hits and all 13 runs were earned… Struck out season-high 5 vs. Cal State Dominguez Hills (5-1 loss in Carson)… Struck out three in 2 2/3 innings vs. Academy of Arts... Played summer ball with Conejo Oaks in California Collegiate League... Threw 44 innings with 20 appearances... Struck out 32 and finished with 3.89 EFA... Team placed fourth at National Baseball Congress in Wichita, Kan.
At South Torrance HS: Earned first-team All-Pioneer League honors and second-team Daily Breeze (Torrance) all-area team honors as a senior… Named HS’s Pitcher of the Year… Struck out 70 with 30 walks in 69 innings with a 2.42 ERA… Allowed an opponent’s .268 batting average… Spent last summer with the Conejo Oaks of the California Collegiate League… Struck out 29 in 23 innings and went 2-0 with a 3.09 ERA.
