As a Junior in 2010: Totaled 18.2 relief innings in his debut season as a Bronco... Struck out 18 hitters and walked eight... Average of 8.7 strikeouts per game ranked first on the CPP squad... After allowing a run in his first appearance, he put together a stretch of five-straight scoreless outings that spanned nine innings from Feb. 18 to March 27... In summer ball, helped the St. Joseph Mustangs to a 40-19 record and fourth place in the National Baseball Congress (NBC) World Series... Filled closer role at times for Mustangs in playoff run.

At Modesto Junior College: As a freshman, began the year as a starter and became the team's closer... Posted seven saves with a 2.51 ERA.

High School: A 2006 graduate of Johansen High School, where he hit .452 as a senior... Named All-League First Team... A two-year starter on the varsity.

Cousin Travis McGriff was a wide receiver for the Denver Broncos... Has an older sister named Erika... Favorite pro teams are the San Francisco Giants, Pittsburgh Steelers, Golden State Warriors and San Jose Sharks... Favorite athlete is Brian Wilson... Aspires to play professional baseball and go to grad school to eventually work in physical therapy.
