Biography

As a Junior in 2014: Started 23 of the Broncos 49 games behind the plate... Got a hit in all three games in the series against Dixie State... Had back-to-back multi-hit games with four hits in seven at bats against Cal State East Bay and Cal Baptist... Recorded three runs batted in against East Bay on March 16 with a 2-for-3 performance from the plate... Threw out 11-of-22 runners... Held a .989 fielding percentage with only two errors committed. 

As a Sophomore in 2013: Batted above .300 for the second-straight season as he went 17-for-55 (.309) at the plate during his sophomore season... Knocked his first career homer as a Bronco on Feb. 9 at Cal Baptist... Through his first seven games of the season, he went 12-for-26 at the plate... Posted a fielding percentage of .978 with three runners thrown out stealing.

As a Freshman in 2012: Led the Broncos in batting average with a .371 mark... Went 13-for-35 at the plate with 10 runs and 10 runs batted in... Posted a 1.000 fielding percentage with 44 putouts and four assists... On Feb. 4 in the Broncos' win over Saint Martin's, he went 3-for-4 with four RBI and three doubles... Collected four hits in his final 10 at-bats of the season while racking up five runs.

High School: A 2011 graduate of Charter Oak High School... Captured the batting title for the baseball team while earning All-Sierra Vista League Second Team honors... Also received selection to the All-Glendora Tournament First Team after guiding the squad to a championship at that event... Picked up quarterly academic honors for maintaing a grade point average above 3.0.

Personal: Born April 29, 1993... Son of John and Glory Philp... Has a younger brother named Matt... Business Administration major... Favorite pro athletes are Mike Trout and Yadier Molina... Favorite pro teams are the Los Angeles Angels and Los Angeles Kings... Aspires to play professional baseball or pursue a career in law enforcement... Enjoys working out and hanging out with friends and family in his free time.
