Biography


As a Senior in 2011:
Selected as the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) and Daktronics West Region Player of the Year... In the final month of season (April 28 to May 22), hit .542 (32-for-59), got on base at a .674 clip and slugged 1.000... Also in that span, opposing pitchers refused to pitch to him and issued Taijeron 24 walks... Through the 2011 campaign, he launched 16 homeruns to match the program record he set in 2010... Closed his Bronco career with 32 homeruns, which ranks second on the all-time CPP leaderboard... Three-time California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) Player of the Week... Named to the NCAA Division II West Region All-Tournament Team after helping the Broncos to the regional championship game.

As a Junior in 2010:
Earned American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) All-West Region Second Team honors as an outfield selection... Selected to the All-CCAA Second Team... Established the school record in home runs with 16...  Collected 48 runs batted in and led the Broncos with a .345 average... Started in 52 of CPP's 53 games as a junior, with all of his starting nods coming in centerfield... Totaled 19 multi-hit games and 10 multi-RBI games, ranking second on the squad in both categories... Hit .400 with runners in scoring position... Ended the campaign with a nine-game hitting streak, going 16-for-37 in that span from April 18 to May 2.

At Southwestern College:
Spent the 2008-09 school year at Southwestern College.

At Grossmont College: Led the Grossmont squad in hitting as a freshman, batting .378 and registering an on-base percentage of .483.

High School:
A 2007 graduate of Granite Hills High School, where he hit more than .400 in his junior and senior seasons... Named All-League First Team and All-CIF as a junior and senior... Named all-state as a junior... Team captured CIF title his senior season.

Born Jan. 20, 1989... Son of Manuel and Katie Taijeron... Sociology major... Has two siblings named Tori and Shaun... Sister plays volleyball at conference rival Cal State Monterey Bay... Favorite athlete is Josh Hamilton... Favorite pro teams are the San Diego Padres and San Diego Chargers... Aspires to play professional baseball.
