Bob Ammann is in his second season as the assistant coach for the Cal Poly Pomona men's soccer team in 2018.

Before joining the staff in March 2017, Ammann came to CPP with 20+ years of NCAA coaching experience, most recently as the head coach of Cal State Fullerton where he spent eight seasons from 2006-13. Prior to the head coaching position, he spent 14 seasons as the assistant coach for CSU Fullerton where he helped the Titans to five NCAA tournament appearances, five second-place conference finishes, and a first place conference finish in the 2000 season.
 
Starting in 2009, Ammann was the GK Academy Director for the U18, U16 and U14 teams at the Pateadores Soccer Club and was involved in all aspects of the US Soccer Academy program.
 
In 2011, Ammann started as a professional match evaluator for Major League Soccer where he evaluated matches to collect information on key elements impacting the quality of MLS games including environment, players, coaches, referees and other variables.
 
From 2008-2013, Ammann served as a training center staff coach and a regional scout for the United States Soccer Federation where he hosted training sessions to identify and promote the best players for U.S. Soccer Youth National Teams.
 
Ammann played four seasons at CSU Fullerton before beginning a professional career that spanned nine seasons. From 1986-1995, he played professionally in the US, Switzerland England, and Canada. Graduating with a B.S. in Criminal Justice, Ammann holds a United States Soccer Federation "A" license.
