Olivia Luu begins her second season as an assistant coach for the Cal Poly Pomona women's basketball team in 2022-23.
Luu came to Cal Poly Pomona after serving two seasons as a graduate assistant for the Gonzaga women's basketball team in Spokane, Wash. With Luu overseeing several aspects of team operations, the Bulldogs went 51-7 and 33-2 in West Coast Conference play, including a WCC Tournament championship in 2020-21. In May 2021, she earned a Master of Arts degree in Organizational Leadership, boasting a 3.90 grade point average.
Luu played four years of collegiate basketball at William Jessup University in Rocklin, Calif. A native of Riverbank, Calif., she started at point guard for the Warriors, averaging 7.9 points shooting 35.2 percent from the floor for her career. In her final season at William Jessup, Luu helped the Warriors advance to their first-ever NAIA National Tournament in 2019, averaging 9.3 points and 3.0 assists per game her senior season. She was a three-year captain and part of the So You Want To Be A Coach WBCA Class of 2019.
Luu graduated from William Jessup University with a degree in Kinesiology with a concentration in Sport Management and a minor in Bible and Theology.
