Rhema Gardner enters her first season in 2015-16 as an assistant coach for the women's basketball program. Gardner is a recent graduate of UCLA, where she was a valued member of both the Bruins' playing squad and coaching staff.
Gardner's off the court efforts will be focused around recruiting and scouting while her on-court duties will involve working with the Broncos' post players.
In her time as a Bruin, Gardner scored a career-high 18 points and had double-digit rebounds in 12 games. In her 2011-12 campaign, she played in all 30 of UCLA's games, while making starts in 20 of them.
Gardner majored in sociology at UCLA and had a minor in theater. Prior to her time as a Bruin, she graduated from Ayala High School. Her senior season at Ayala saw her help the Bulldogs win the Sierra League Championship.
Rhema, while born in Palm Springs, is a native of Upland. Her parents are Enrique and Consuellen. She has an older sister named Rebekah who also played basketball at UCLA.
