Biography

As a Senior in 2010-11: Earned Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) and Daktronics All-American honors... Selected as the Daktronics West Region Player of the Year... After collecting 28 points on March 15 to lead the Broncos to a West Region title, Colson was named the Most Outstanding Player of the tournament... Holds a scoring average of 21.5 points per game, a mark that ranks second nationally at the Division II level and first in the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA)... Named the CCAA Most Valuable Player for the 2010-11 season... Earned Capital One Academic All-American honors after maintaing a grade point average of 3.68 as an Accounting major... Has collected four double-double performances during her senior campaign, bringing her career total to 20... Nearly netted a triple-double on Feb. 5, 2011 against Cal State Dominguez Hills, as she registered 18 points, eight assists and eight steals... During a Jan. 18 win over Cal State San Bernardino, she tallied career point No. 1,500 and she now stands fourth all-time on the CPP leaderboards with 1,916... Set a new career high for points with 35 on Feb. 19 at Cal State Stanislaus.

As a Junior in 2009-10: Started each of the Broncos' 29 games... Led the team in points per game (16.6), steals (53) and assists (76) ... Her 16.6 scoring averaged ranked third in the CCAA... Her steals and assists otals ranked eighth and ninth in the conference respectively... Earned spots on the Daktronics All-West Region First Team and All-CCAA First Team for the second-straight season... Also selected to the WBCA State Farm Region 8 team for the second consecutive year... Matched single-game career high in points with 27 in home route of Cal State Stanislaus (2/6/10)... She won three Player of the Week honors during the 2009-10 campaign... On Jan. 22 at San Francisco State in an overtime win for the Broncos, she became the 22nd player in Cal Poly Pomona women's basketball program history to score 1,000 career points... Currently ranks 14th on the all-time Broncos' scoring list... Registered five double-double games as a junior, with CPP going 4-1 on those games... Selected to the CoSIDA/ESPN The Magaine Academic All-District 8 First Team for the second-straight year... Owns 16 career double-doubles, with two as a freshman, nine as a sophomore and five as a junior.

As a Sophomore in 2008-09: Appeared in 25 games with 25 starts…Missed first five games with tendonitis… Earned Honorable Mention All-America honors by the WBCA… A WBCA State Farm Region 8 team member… Daktronics West Region first team… First-team All-CCAA… Scored career-high 27 in the loss at home to Humboldt State… Grabbed career-high 18 rebounds in home loss to Cal State San Bernardino… Scored in double figures in each of her 25 games and averaged 16.8 points (overall games) and a league-leading 17.1 points in CCAA games… Produced nine double-doubles including a conference-best 11 assists at Humboldt State… Surpassed the 700-point mark in her 50th career game (vs. HSU, 2/21/09)… Reached double figures in scoring in 47 of her 53 career games… Tied for 7th on CPP single-season FT attempts (195)... Only player in the CCAA (overall games) who ranked in top 10 in scoring, rebounds, FG percentage, assists, steals, assist/turnover ratio and minutes… CCAA Player of the Week for the week of Dec. 15-21… Named CCAA/GNAC Tournament MVP in Pomona, while averaging 20 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists and 3.5 steals a game in wins over Western Oregon and Northwest Nazarene… Scored 26 points, collected seven assists, two steals and four rebounds vs. Western Oregon… Scored game-winning FT with 1.5 seconds left in 47-46 home win over SFSU… A 2009 CoSIDA/ESPN the Magazine Academic All-District 8 first-team member… A CCAA All-Academic honoree.

As a Freshman in 2007-08: Appeared in 28 games with 27 starts… Named CCAA’s Freshman of the Year and second-team all CCAA… Second in team in points, points per game, rebounds and minutes… Led team in field goals and assists… Ranked 9th in FG percentage (42.1 percent), 9th in assists (2.71) and 8th in steals (1.68) in the final CCAA rankings… Averaged 28 minutes a contest and played no less than 19 minutes in any game… Recorded two double-doubles – 13 points and 14 rebounds at Grand Canyon (12/11/07) and 11 points and 12 rebounds vs. Cal State L.A. (2/8/08)… Scored season-best 25 points against Chico State (2/16/08) including 15 in the first half… Reached double figures in points in 22 of the 28 games and scored in each game… Reached double figures in scoring in seven of the Broncos’ final eight games… Dealt season-high 7 assists against UC San Diego (2/23/08)… Earned all-tourney honors at GNAC/CCAA tourney at Western Oregon… Earned CCAA All-Academic status.

High School: Member of CIF championship team at Lynwood High School in 2006… Averaged nine points, three rebounds, four assists and two steals a game… An honors student… Member of school’s track and field team.

Personal: Daughter of Reginald and Rachelle Colson… An Accounting major… Enjoys roller skating… Says defeating Long Beach Poly for the CIF title at the Long Beach State Pyramid is her most exciting experience in sports.
