Biography
2008: One of the top runners in the CCAA… Finished 13th at the West Regional Championships at UC San Diego… Completed the 6,000-meter layout in 22:40.3 and earned USTFCCCA All-Region honors… Owned five top-10 finishes and the top Bronco in all six events… At Stanford, she was the fourth-highest Division II finisher (33rd) and second-best CCAA performer… Established school record in the 6,000 at the CCAA Meet, running 21:45.1 and finished second… Named CCAA Runner of the Week for her effort at UC Irvine… A three-time CPP/Enterprise Athlete of the Month honoree... An All-CCAA Academic selection.
2007: Competed in seven events… Finished 20th at the CCAA meet (22:20 over 6,000 meters)… Finished 35th at the NCAA West Regional in Boise, Idaho (22:05 over 6,000 meters)… A CCAA All-Academic selection.
At Glendale College: Competed as an unattached runner at the 2007 Occidental Open… Ran a 5:10 5000 meters… Later posted a personal-best 5000-meter time of 19:45 at the Carlsbad 5000 road race.
At Crescenta Valley HS: Competed on the prep gymnast team and school cheerleader.
Personal: Daughter of Mike and Cheryl Turner… Marketing major… A competitive gymnast who picked up running for the first time while studying at Glendale College in 2007… Enjoys playing the piano… Earned Track and Field All-Amercian honors by placing 8th in the 3,000-meter steeplechase at the 2009 NCAA Division II Championships in San Angelo, Texas.
