Cal Poly Pomona right-hander Erick Ruvalcaba helped the Broncos get off to a strong start in their four-game series with Cal State L.A. to wrap up the regular season. The sophomore from Whittier, Calif., hurled a complete-game shutout on Thursday while holding the Golden Eagles to just three hits. It marked the first nine-inning complete game of Ruvalcaba’s career. Through the nine innings, he kept CSULA to a .100 batting average and struck out two hitters.
