Cal Poly Pomona Athletics

DeRonn Scott led the Cal Poly Pomona men's basketball team to a 70-63 home victory over UC San Diego on Saturday as the Broncos staged a 21-point comeback to improve to 3-3 overall and 1-1 in conference play.

Trailing by 19 at half, CPP scored 49 points in the final 20 minutes to top the Tritons. Out of those 49 second-half points, Scott scored 24 as he finished with 26 points in the game. The senior guard out of Etiwanda also added four rebounds and two steals while going 8-for-9 at the free throw line.

The Broncos will return to action Saturday with a 7:30 p.m. home game against Humboldt State.
