Cal Poly Pomona Athletics

Senior guard DeRonn Scott led the Cal Poly Pomona men's basketball team to an 81-76 double-overtime win Saturday over Humboldt State. Scott knocked down the game-tying basket with five seconds left in the first overtime and ended up with 22 points on 9-for-15 shooting. He also grabbed four rebounds while dishing out five assists in a career-high 44 minutes of action. Scott excelled from beyond the arc, going 4-for-6 on his three-point attempts against the Jacks.

Scott has now scored 20 or more points in four of the last five games, raising his season scoring average to 17.3. The Broncos will return to action Saturday with a 7:30 p.m. road game at Humboldt State in Arcata.
