Sophomore righthander Cody Ponce contributed five strong innings Tuesday, allowing six hits and one run while striking out five to lead the Broncos to a 6-4 victory over Cal State Dominguez Hills. A 6-foot-5 starter from Upland, Ponce has allowed just nine earned runs in 40.2 innings pitched for an earned run average of 1.99.

CPP carried a 6-1 lead Tuesday into the Toros' final at-bat, in which Dominguez scored three to make it an interesting 6-4 final. Austin Boyle recorded the final two outs for the Broncos to earn his second save of the season.
