POMONA, Calif. – Daisy Duran scored her first two collegiate goals Friday, lifting the Cal Poly Pomona women's soccer team to a 3-1 home win over 18th-ranked Metro State at Kellogg Field.
Duran notched her first score of the game after receiving a through pass into the box from Indra Arteaga. To start the second half scoring, Amanda Gomez knocked in a header after a well-placed corner kick by Duran. On Duran's second score, Melissa Martinez proved to be the catalyst on the play as she created a breakaway against the Roadrunners' goalkeeper. At the last moment, she found Duran sprinting into the box and dished off a nice pass for the freshman to finish the play.
The Broncos return to action Sunday 9/20/14 at 1PM against Dixie State.
