Led by four All-Region performers, the nationally-ranked Cal Poly Pomona men's cross country team placed third at the NCAA Division II West Region Championships Saturday to earn a spot in the D-II National Championships next month.

The Broncos totaled 101 points, trailing just first-place Chico State at 30 points and second-place Alaska Anchorage at 53 points. Mark Huizar led the CPP squad, finishing third individually with a time of 30:48.89. With a mile pace of 4:58, that mark stands as the sixth-fastest 10K time in school history and the fastest in 24 years
