Cal Poly Pomona Athletics

With provisional qualifiers from a pair of seniors, the Cal Poly Pomona women's track and field team excelled during the two days of competition at the Cal State L.A. Invite.

Tiffany Tate placed first in the javelin, outpacing the second-place finisher by 21 feet. Tate's provisional qualifying mark of 147-8 put her at No. 7 on the Broncos' all-time leaderboard and stands as the program's top distance since 1988.

Tate also starred in the shotput, taking second with a career-best distance of 44-6.75. That moves her up to No. 7 on the CPP leaderboard for that event. Teammate Nina Pritchett placed third in the shotput with a 39-0.25 mark.
