In The Legends Distance Carnival at UCLA, the Cal Poly Pomona men's track and field team did a terrific job. In the 5,000 meter run, Francisco Gomez led the way for CPP with a seventh overall finish and a time of 14:11.80. The time earned Gomez the second spot on the CPP all-time record books in the event. Gomez' time also earned him an NCAA provisional mark in the event.
