With senior Calene Morris leading the way, Cal Poly Pomona women's cross counry put together an impressive performance on Saturday morning at the Stanford Invitational. The Broncos totaled 218 points to place eighth out of the 16-team field, which consisted mostly of Division I programs. The only Division II team ahead of CPP was fifth-place Simon Fraser. The host Stanford won the 6,000-meter women's race with 37 points.

Morris placed 21st individually with a time of 21:28.90, which moves her up to No. 2 in the program's leaderboard for the 6,000-meter distance. The Torrance native has been the Broncos' top finisher in two of the first three meets of the season.
