Broncos post 3-0 win over Cal State Dominguez Hills

Driscoll sets career high 6 aces in victory

– Senior Audrey Driscoll fired a career-high six service aces and led the Broncos with 17 digs as CPP defeated Cal State Dominguez Hills 3-0 in California Collegiate Athletic Association volleyball Friday night at Darlene May Gym.

The victory was CPP's second straight as it improved to 7-8 overall and 4-4 in the CCAA. The Toros are 1-14, 1-7.

The Broncos, who won 25-12, 25-16, 25-18, fired off an impressive .348 attack percentage (41 kills/10 errors/89) as coach Rosie Wegrich received a balanced effort from a host of her Broncos.

Freshman Diana Lake led the Broncos in kills with 10 and was second in line behind Driscoll with 10 digs. She also had two block assists.

Freshman Lindsey Poulos was stellar again with nine kills, a .471 attack percentage and three block assists in just two games played.

The Broncos dominated the Toros right off the bat. In Game 1, CPP led 12-8 before firing off an 10-2 run on the strength of five CSUDH attack errors and a pair of kills from freshman Taylr Kreutziger and Poulos.

Game 2 featured CPP firing a 15-2-30 effort, good for .433. With the game tied at 2-2, CPP ran off a streak of six straight points to take command. With Driscoll serving, CPP got two service aces, and kills from Elizabeth Diaz, junior Courtney Alberi and Kreutziger.

Game 3 was more of the same for the Broncos, who were 14-5-32. Driscoll had two service aces in the game, while Poulos had four kills.

The Broncos welcome Cal State L.A. to Darlene May Gym on Saturday night. First serve is set for 7 p.m.

CSUDH was led by Samantha Maxwell's nine kills.
