CPP earns 13th straight win over the Warriors

– Cal Poly Pomona continued its recent success against fellow California Collegiate Athletic Association member Cal State Stanislaus with a 3-1 victory Friday night.

The Broncos, who have won three of their last four matches, earned their 13th straight victory against the Warriors. CPP evened its record this season at 5-5 overall and 2-1 in the CCAA.

CSUS dropped to 5-5 and 0-3.

Senior Elizabeth Diaz led the way in the four-game victory (25-22, 25-18, 12-25, 25-18) with 13 kills and a .323 attack percentage. Freshman Lindsey Poulos continued with her breakout debut season with 11 kills and two block assists. Junior Courtney Alberi was next in line with nine kills and a .364 attack percentage.

The Broncos fired 51 kills and totaled .246. They were nearly perfect in their Game 2 win – owning a 16-2-36 effort, good for .389

The Broncos continue their northern California swing with a match at Chico State on Saturday night. First serve is set for 7 p.m.
