Elizabeth Diaz led Cal Poly Pomona with nine kills and teammate
Courtney Alberi added six kills with two block assists in the Broncos' 3-0 loss to No. 2 Cal State San Bernardino before a packed Darlene May Gym crowd of 825 in California Collegiate Athletic Association volleyball Wednesday night.
The Broncos dropped to 5-7 overall and 2-3 in the CCAA, while the Coyotes remained unbeaten at 12-0 and 5-0 in league play.
CSUSB earned the 25-11, 25-21, 25-13 victory on the strength of .386 hitting (36 kills/nine errors/70 attacks). The Coyotes also held the advantage on the block with 14 block assists and two solos.
Trailing 1-0, Cal Poly Pomona played its most inspired during Game 2. The game featured 10 ties beginning at 9-9. Its final lead of the game was 12-11 on a kill from Diaz.
With the game tied at 18-18, CSUSB earned momentum on a string of four straight points. Kills from Megan Johnson and Ashtin Hall pushed the Coyotes ahead by two and after an attack error from the Broncos'
Diana Lake, CSUSB's Morgan Carty threw down a kill and CSUSB led 22-18 and went on to earn the win.

Audrey Driscoll had six digs.
Driscoll is tied for eighth on the all-time digs chart with Rafaela Rosa at 720.
The Broncos return to CCAA play Friday afternoon with a match against No. 15 Sonoma State. First serve is set for 1 p.m.
