Box Score

POMONA
– It didn't take long for Cal Poly Pomona's Marc Glogowsky to get warmed up.

The Oakland senior entered play in the second half and 55 seconds into the final 45 minutes he scored on a chip in from junior Tyler Reinhart and the Broncos went on to win a 2-0 California Collegiate Athletic Association men's soccer game Sunday afternoon at Kellogg Field.

The Broncos won their second straight Sunday home contest and improved to 4-5 overall and 2-4 in the CCAA. The four wins equal CPP's total from a year ago.

Both teams played to a scoreless first half as first-year coach Lance Thompson gave several players their first starts of the season. He changed things up in the final 45 minutes and Glogowsky got the Broncos ahead quickly.

CPP, which out-shot the Pioneers 29-5, had five players with at least three shots and senior Dustin Suppe had totaled five shots with three SOG.

Suppe gave the Broncos a two-goal cushion when he scored his fourth goal of the season in the 87th minute when he placed himself on the left side of the net and scored on a feed from senior Kevin Ramirez.

The Broncos fired 10 shots at Pioneers goalkeeper Billy Morales.

Thompson gave freshman Chris Otani his second start of the season and he turned back 1 SOG. Senior Brad Jones entered play in the second half and earned the win with two saves. Jones improved to 2-3-0.

CSUEB lost its ninth straight game and was shut out for the fifth time this season and second on the road trip. It lost to CSU San Bernardino 7-0 on Friday.

The Broncos continue their six-game homestand with a Friday afternoon match-up against defending NCAA champion Cal State Dominguez Hills. Kickoff is set for 4:30 p.m. The Toros defeated CPP 1-0 on Sept. 13 in Carson.
