Last Chance Meet Results

LOS ANGELES -
The Cal Poly Pomona men's track and field team put together a solid performance Saturday at the Cal State L.A. Last Chance Meet.

The Broncos' top showings came from the 4x400 relay group, taking first place with a time of 3:13.46, and Jersain Torres finishing first in the 3,000-meter steeplechase while posting a 9:31.9 mark.

Also earning a top-three finish were Lance Walkington, registering a third-place javelin distance of 199-0, and Ryan Carrell, racing to a third-place finish in the 1,500-meter race with a time of 3:58.71.

Up next for some of CPP's athletes will be an appearance at the NCAA Division II Championships held in Turlock later this month. On the men's side, Walkington qualified automatically earlier this season and a pair of his teammates could join him there. The final announcement of participants will take place on Tuesday morning.

Saturday's meet in Los Angeles served as the final competition for some CPP senior student-athletes, a tremendous group of individuals. The entire senior class features Corey Arnold, Mariano Baez, Jorge Garcia, Griffin, Neil Macrorie, Matthew Prentice, Nathan Schultz, Torres, Walkington and Derek Wong.
