Box Score | AZUSA, Calif. – Junior guard Lauren Goecke scored a career-high 20 points Saturday, leading the Cal Poly Pomona women's basketball team to an 84-75 overtime win at Azusa Pacific.

CPP shot 47 percent from the field Saturday and five Broncos scored in double figures. Goecke led the way and missed just one shot overall, going 7-for-8 from the floor, 4-for-4 from three-point range and 2-for-2 at the free throw line.

Sophomore Cydnie Jones recorded her second career double-double performance, totaling 17 points and 13 rebounds in a team-high 42 minutes of action.

The host APU squad rallied in the second half to send the game into overtime but CPP outscored the Cougars 17-8 in the extra period.

Saturday's game marked the final non-conference tuneup for CPP. The Broncos will return to action Tuesday, Nov. 26 with a California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) home game against Cal State San Bernardino.

Against APU Saturday, CPP forced 21 turnovers and turned them into 32 points. The Broncos' starting five totaled 10 of the team's 12 steals and Goecke tallied four.

CPP pushed out to an 11-point first-half lead on two different occasions, first with a Jones three-pointer at the 13:05 mark and then on a Jones layup and free throw about six minutes later. Both offenses struggled in the final few minutes of the opening half and a fastbreak layup by APU's Elena Aya trimmed the Broncos' lead to 37-31 going into halftime.

The lead changed hands 14 different times through Saturday's game and 11 of those lead changes came in the second half. The Cougars' Sullivan Ziegler dropped in a fastbreak layup with 2:22 to play, giving APU a 66-65 edge. One minute later, the Cougars hit one of two free throw attempts to push the margin to two points.

Broncos' senior guard J.J. Judge came through in the clutch, knocking down a jumper at the 51-second mark off a Jones assist. That basket tied up the score at 67-67 and it stayed even up through the regulation buzzer. Judge totaled nine of her 13 points in the second half.

CPP elevated its game in overtime, outscoring the Cougars 17-8 to run away with the victory. Ariel Marsh and Goecke starred in the extra period, combining for 13 of the team's points in the five minutes. After APU scored a basket on the opening possession, the Broncos rallied for a 10-0 run with seven-straight points from Marsh followed by a triple from Goecke.

In the end, Judge, Marsh and Jada Blackwell finished with 13 points apiece to join Goecke and Jones in double figures.
