Box Score | POMONA, Calif. – The No. 14 Cal Poly Pomona women's basketball team suffered an 85-73 loss Thursday to Chico State on "Pack the Stands" night at Kellogg Gym.

It marks the first Broncos' defeat since Jan. 3 as CPP had built a five-game winning streak over the last few weeks. CPP continues to hold first place in the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) at 9-2 while the Wildcats rise above .500 in conference play at 6-5.

Junior guard Ariel Marsh reached the 20-point mark for the third-straight game as she finished with a game-high 24 points, including four three-pointers. Jada Blackwell joined her in double figures with 15 points on 7-for-10 shooting.

Chico put together a more balanced effort though with six players in double figures, including 17 points from Jazmine Miller and 15 from Annie Ward.

The Wildcats led by as many as 20 points in the second half but the Broncos continued to battle, cutting the margin down to single digits with a late trey from Marsh before CPP eventually fell by a distance of 12 points.

The Broncos never held a lead in Thursday's game but one highlight in particular proved to be in rebounding. CPP posted a 36-29 advantage in that category and Ashley Lovett led the way with nine boards while J.J. Judge and Mian Dingle contributed six apiece.

The host Broncos' squad also shot well in general, going 45.7 percent from the field overall and knocking down six of their 13 three-point attempts. CPP couldn't slow down the Chico attack though as the Wildcats shot 60.7 percent in the first half and finished at 50.9 percent by the final buzzer.

The Broncos will look to bounce back with a win on Saturday as they'll host Cal State Stanislaus for a 5:30 p.m. tipoff.
