Box Score | POMONA, Calif. – Setting out to bounce back from a Thursday home loss, the No. 14 Cal Poly Pomona women's basketball team certainly accomplished that Saturday as the Broncos cruised to an 83-64 victory over Cal State Stanislaus.

The first-place Broncos now stand at 13-3 overall and 10-2 in the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) while the visiting Warriors drop to 10-6 overall and 7-5 through league action.

Four CPP players scored in double figures, including a game-high 23 points from Ariel Marsh. Jada Blackwell and Ashley Lovett helped the Broncos take an edge in rebounding and both players posted double-double performances. Sophomore Tyler Woods dished out six assists to match her season best.

The Broncos and Warriors got off to a sluggish start through the first few minutes of Saturday's game. The offenses came alive though and the two squads traded the lead nine times in the first 12 minutes of action.

CPP took control late in the opening half, putting together a 21-6 run through the final 7:19 going into the break. Marsh knocked down the go-ahead three-pointer to start the run and it marked one of five first-half treys for the Broncos.

After that go-ahead basket, Marsh continued her strong play with a steal on the next possession. She capitalized in transition, dropping in a layup and drawing contact for the three-point play. CPP brought a 41-27 edge into halftime.

The Broncos kept up the pressure in the second half, despite giving up an 8-3 run to start the period.  CPP responded with a 15-0 run of its own, a stretch that was capped off with back-to-back layups from Blackwell.

The 20-point advantage established by the host squad remained above that level through the remainder of the contest until a layup with 30 seconds to play cut the final score down to a 19-point margin, 83-64.

CPP shot 52.6 percent from the floor Saturday, which represents the second-best mark for the team this season. The Broncos' 88.9-percent effort at the free throw line Saturday is the best performance in the 2013-14 campaign.

As CPP outrebounded the Warriors 36-31, Blackwell and Lovett led the way with 10 boards apiece. Joining Marsh in double figures for scoring were Lovett with a season-high 20 points while Blackwell and J.J. Judge added totals of 17 and 10 respectively.

The Broncos will return to action Friday with a 5:30 p.m. road game at UC San Diego.
