Sauve Selected as CCAA Player of the Week

WALNUT CREEK, Calif. - Alison Sauve of the Cal Poly Pomona women's soccer team earned California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) Player of the Week honors for the week of Oct. 6 through Oct. 12, conference officials announced Tuesday.

For the second time this season, the Broncos emerged victorious over a nationally-ranked team. This time it is credit to Sauve, who led the Broncos to a huge win against No. 7 Cal State Stanislaus on Sunday at Kellogg Field.

With the help of Stacey Atwater and Hailey James, Sauve was able to connect for her second goal of the season in the 65th minute to lift CPP to its 1-0 victory against a tough Warrior squad.

The Broncos finished 2-0 on the weekend after also snagging a 3-0 win against Cal State East Bay on Friday. With the results, CPP improved to 8-4 overall and 3-3 in CCAA action. The Broncos are tied for fifth place in the conference standings.

CPP returns to action this Friday with a road game at San Francisco State.
