POMONA, Calif. - Coming off of a sweep against San Francisco State on Saturday, the Cal Poly Pomona Broncos' volleyball team will continue their season as they host the Tritons of UC San Diego on Wednesday.
The homestand continues Friday with a match against Humboldt State and then concludes with the regular season finale - "Senior Night" - against Cal State San Bernardino on Saturday.
Â
Wednesday's match will serve as "Military Appreciation Night" as Cal Poly Pomona recognizes and thanks the men and women who have served in the armed forces. Free admission will be given to all current or prior service members.
Service members can present a military ID for the free admission. Another option is to RSVP at the Cal Poly Pomona Veteran's Resource Center. To RSVP, contact Elke at
emazpeitia@cpp.edu. For event questions, contact Monica at

Saturday's pre-match ceremony will honor CPP's four senior student-athletes:

Â
CPP enters the week with a 12-8 overall record, which includes a 10-7 in California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) play.

Â
In the match against the Gators, the CPP squad rarely trailed the opposition. Only a few points saw the Broncos playing catch-up as CPP won the first set 25-20, the second 25-21, and the third 25-20.
Â
Heading into Wednesday's matchup, the Broncos' kill leader is freshman outside hitter
Deanna Blaine with 218 kills.

The Broncos' dig leader is junior libero
Zoe Herrera, who holds 342 thus far in 2014. Last match, she secured her place at No. 7 in the
Record Book for that category.
Â
Junior middle blocker
Christen Williams leads the Broncos' attack percentage category with a .312 mark.
Â
Alexa Hasen, a junior middle blocker, owns the most blocks on the CPP defense, with 86 collected on the season.

Also at Wednesday's Military Appreciation Night, the Broncos will be playing the songs of the Marine Corps, Army, Navy, Air Force, and Coast Guard. Be sure to come and show your support to the brave men and women who serve.
