@cppwsoccer Heads to Colorado for 2-Game Trip

POMONA, Calif. – With a stellar 2-0 record thus far, the Cal Poly Pomona women's soccer team heads on its first road trip of the season as the Broncos travel to Denver, Colo., for two games against the Metro State Roadrunners and the Regis Rangers.

The first game of the trip for CPP will be on Friday at 6 p.m. Pacific (7 p.m. Mountain). The game will take place in the Regency Athletic Complex as the Broncos play visitor to the Roadrunners of Metro State. The all-time series tally between the two squads stands in the Green and Gold's favor with a 4-2-1 mark.

Last time the two teams met, the Broncos came away victorious 3-1 as they bested the nationally-ranked Roadrunners. CPP scored three times before a last minute goal by Metro put them on the board. Thus far this season, the Roadrunners are 1-3.

After the Broncos play their first game of the weekend, they have a day off Saturday before a matchup on Sunday at 11 a.m. Pacific (12 p.m. Mountain) against the Regis Rangers. The game will take place at the Rangers' home in Denver on the Regis Soccer and Lacrosse Pitch.

The all-time series between the two squads shows a slight CPP advantage, winning three-of-four games. When the two met during the 2014 campaign, the Green and Gold topped Regis 3-0.

In the two games that the Broncos have played thus far in 2015, they have outscored the opposition 6-0. Game one of the year saw the Green and Gold rout the Dominican Penguins 5-0. In that game, there were five different student-athletes who scored for the Green and Gold. Three of those scorers were freshman and the other two were members of the sophomore class.

In the CPP victory over the Academy of Art, the lone Bronco goal came from Lauren Miller as she scored just near the end of the first half. The Green and Gold defense held firm after that and blanked the Urban Knights for the team's second win.

The Broncos will return home on Sept. 25 for the season's first conference game as CPP hosts California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) rivals, the Cal State Dominguez Hills Toros. The Broncos will be holding their annual Pack the Stands night with plenty of fan promotions.
