POMONA, Calif. - In a back-and-forth match that featured four Broncos collecting double-digit kills, the Cal Poly Pomona volleyball team secured a 3-2 home victory over Humboldt State.
Extending their win streak to four matches, the Broncos are now 6-4 overall and 2-0 in the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA). The Jacks fall to 3-3 overall and 1-1 in league action.
On Saturday at Kellogg Arena, CPP will host Sonoma State. Currently, the Seawolves are ranked at No. 21 in the latest NCAA Division II national poll.
The Broncos featured a balanced attack Thursday as
Hannah Harrer led CPP with 13 kills while
Nicoletta Stork,
Deanna Blaine and
Alexa Hasen also added double-digit kill totals.

Zoe Herrera collected 24 digs, the second-highest total for her this season. The Broncos were helped by Humboldt's serving as the Jacks totaled 14 service errors.
Desi Martin, a freshman from San Diego, bolstered CPP's blocking. She registered six of the team's 12 blocks on Thursday.
The two teams traded sets the entire net, with the Broncos taking the first 25-22, falling in the second 25-22, dominating the third 25-13 and losing the fourth 25-23. That led to the fifth and decisive frame, which CPP captured 16-14.
The Broncos trailed 11-9 in the final set before Hasen helped CPP bounce back. On a Humboldt serve, Hasen knocked in a kill after an assist by
Alina Smith. After that, Hasen fired in a service ace to tie the score 11-11. Smith then assisted a Harrer kill, forcing a timeout from the Jacks.
Later in the frame, a 14-14 tie was broken when Humboldt committed a service error. On the next match point, Blaine collected a kill to wrap up the 3-2 win for the Broncos. Smith and Stork put together a stellar performance in the setting category, combining for 53 assists.
Saturday's match at Kellogg Arena between CPP and Sonoma State will begin at 7 p.m.
