@CPPWBB Set for Pair of Games in Canada

POMONA, Calif. - With a 2-2 record so far in non-conference play, the Cal Poly Pomona women's basketball team is aiming to rise above .500 this week with a pair of road games at Simon Fraser.

Traveling up to Burnaby, British Columbia, this will be the Broncos' first contest in Canada since taking on SFU in November 2014. On Friday and Saturday, CPP will take on Simon Fraser at 12 p.m. for games on back-to-back days.

Through the first four games of the 2016-17 season, CPP has built a tremendous rebounding advantage over its opponents. The Broncos are averaging 41.8 rebounds while opponents own a 30.3 mark. Junior Priscilla Brooks averages 9.8 boards per game while fellow third-year Chelsea Waddy-Blow holds a 7.3 mark.

In the first week of play in San Diego, CPP lost to Point Loma but then defeated Azusa Pacific the next day. Last weekend in Montana, the Broncos defeated Black Hills State on Friday but then lost to Montana State Billings to conclude the non-conference tournament.

This week's opponent - Simon Fraser - owns a 6-1 overall record this season. Friday's first game against the Broncos will be the home opener for SFU.

CPP will have a quick turnaround after returning from Canada. The Broncos will host UC San Diego on Tuesday at Kellogg Arena to start California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) action.
