Broncos Fall to SF State on Friday, 79-63

SAN FRANCISCO - After holding a lead midway through the first half, the Cal Poly Pomona men's basketball team ended up falling 79-63 at San Francisco State on Frida night.

The Broncos battled the undefeated Gators close in the first half. CPP cut the deficit back to five points early in the second half but San Francisco State finished strong, pushing the gap to double digits and using stellar free throw shooting to wrap up the victory.

With the result, the Broncos fall to 2-4 overall and 0-2 in the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA). The Gators now stand at 7-0 overall and 1-0 in league play.

CPP outrebounded SFSU 33-31 but it was the home team's free throw shooting that stood out the most. The Gators sank 29 of their 30 free throw attempts for a 96.7-percent mark.

Jordan Ogundiran highlighted the Broncos' offensive effort, totaling 14 points and six rebounds. Freshman Mason Dickerson, a Long Beach native, scored a season-high 11 points as he knocked down three shots from beyond the arc.
