Women's Basketball Travels to Sonoma State on Friday

POMONA, Calif. – After a short break, the Cal Poly Pomona women's basketball team will return to action for their first road game in nearly a month, traveling to California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) opponent Sonoma State on Friday.
 
The Broncos (6-5, 4-1 CCAA) have won four of their last five contests and currently ride a two-game conference win streak. Friday's game will be the first of a four-game road stint for CPP who currently sits in third in the CCAA standings.
 
Having held three of their last four opponents to under 50 points, the Broncos boast the top defense in the conference giving up an average of only 55.6 points per game. This defense will be tested on Friday as Sonoma holds the highest scoring offense in the CCAA, averaging 72.6 points per game.
 
Junior forward Chelsea Waddy-Blow leads the team in points per game and ranks in the top 15 in the conference, scoring 12.2 ppg, while Priscilla Brooks' 8.1 rebounds per game also leads the team and is the second highest average in the CCAA.
 
Other key contributors on the season include Marshanique Hall with 7.7 ppg and Jackie Ricketson whose averages in include 5.0 points, 3.5 assists and 3.5 rebounds.
